Technology Annual Report

The Woodhaven-Brownstown School District Technology Mission states that technology is an essential tool which empowers our students to become productive members of an ever-changing society. Our staff and students will expand current technology usage through engaged learning communities using collaborative tools and techniques to prepare students to succeed in a world of continuous technological advancements.

The Woodhaven-Brownstown School District continues to use the District Technology Plan as a guideline to expand the technology available to the staff and students. The approved three-year plan is posted on the district's website, click here to access the district plan.

One of the District's points of pride is offering our students advanced technological learning opportunities which was supported by the community using bond issued funds in 2001. Our continued commitment to facilitate our teachers with current and relevant technology must be balanced with cost saving measures to meet reduced budgets.

Woodhaven-Brownstown Board of Education meetings are broadcast live on Comcast and WOW cable networks and are streaming live on the internet which can be accessed from a link on our website. The meetings are replayed every Tuesday and Thursday on cable and can also be played anytime from the districts website.

The Woodhaven-Brownstown School District parents have access to ParentConnection, a web-based application where parents can view their children's data such as progress reports, report cards, attendance, daily assignments, and lunch information. Another communication resource is EduLink, a new automated telephone notification system that allows the district to quickly make calls to parents in the event of an emergency or for general information. EduLink also offers a teacher component where informational messages can be generated from the teachers informing parents about relevant details within the classroom.

Beginning in the 2012-13 school year, we are upgrading the District website to a fresh new look. The new site will feature individual teacher websites and many other advanced capabilities. In September, you will be able access the new website using our existing domain: http://www.woodhaven.k12.mi.us or by using our shorter web address: http://wbsd.co.
